Owl Practice Suite is looking for an experienced Software Architect to support our growth.

The person in this role will have hands-on experience building a system from the ground up and be able to lead and contribute to software development, database administration, AWS cloud infrastructure, and software architecture.

Responsibilities and Duties

This role will be involved in:

  • Leading the design, development, and maintenance of scalable systems.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to innovate features and improve functionality.
  • Providing mentorship on software architecture principles and best practices.
  • Ensuring product security, reliability, and performance.
  • Optimizing database performance and ensuring data integrity.
  • Contributing to RESTful API development and maintenance.
  • Participating in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Vendor assessment, selection and management.
  • Leading and demonstrating internal POC projects.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends to enhance the platform.

Qualifications and Skills

You have experience with:

  • Software architecture design and development for scalable, efficient systems.
  • Proficiency in database management, focusing on MySQL and AWS Aurora RDS.
  • Strong expertise in RESTful API design, implementation, and support, including publishing public and open APIs.
  • Advanced skills in Python (3.x), with bonus points for Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Previous involvement in large-scale web applications, with a bonus for healthcare experience.
  • Experience in unifying products and platforms into a cohesive suite.
  • Proficient in integrating identity management, order entry, and CRM systems.
  • Knowledgeable in DevOps practices, particularly within AWS environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proactive and collaborative teamwork approach.
  • Familiarity with Ubuntu Linux or other Linux distributions.
  • Understanding of network security measures, including protection against SQL injections and other threats.

  • A university undergraduate degree (math, comp sci/engineering)

  • A proven track record of successful project delivery
