Owl Practice Suite is looking for an experienced Technical Writer to help us enhance user experience, customer satisfaction and product adoption through high-quality documentation that explains the features, functionality, and usage of our products in an easy-to-understand manner.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Work closely with development teams, product managers, and subject matter experts to understand the software requirements and gather necessary information for documentation.
  • Write user guides, release notes, online help, tutorials, and other technical content to assist users in effectively utilizing our products.
  • Conduct user research to gather insights and identify opportunities for improving the knowledge base experience.
  • Design intuitive navigation and search functionality for easy content discovery within the knowledge base.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and technical writers to organize and structure knowledge base content effectively.
  • Analyzing existing documentation, identifying areas for improvement, and updating content as needed to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  • Creating and maintaining the information architecture and content strategy for the documentation.
  • Collaborating with development teams, product managers, and subject matter experts to create visual aids, such as diagrams, screenshots, and videos, to enhance the documentation.
  • Editing and proofreading documentation to maintain consistency, accuracy, and adherence to style guides and standards.
  • Gathering feedback from users, customer support, and other stakeholders to improve the documentation and address any gaps or issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in knowledge management and self-service support.

As Our Ideal Candidate, You Will Have

  • 4+ years of technical writing experience.
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities to produce clear, concise, and well-organized content.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong command of grammar, spelling, and writing conventions.
  • Proficiency in using different writing styles and formats (e.g., user guides, manuals, tutorials)
  • Ability to quickly learn and comprehend complex technical information.
  • Strong research skills to gather information from various sources.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize technical data and documentation.
  • Proficiency in conducting user analysis and understanding audience needs.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in the health or wellness industry.
  • Understanding of the US insurance and benefits process.
